The Sacramento County Planning Commissions
is a five-member commission appointed by the Board of Supervisors to hear land
use, zoning and related policy issues. Insuring compliance with legal noticing
requirements, meeting scheduling, agenda preparation and meeting follow-up
are overseen by the Clerk of the Board's office. Clerk of the Board staff also
acts as clerk of the commission at their meetings.
Some actions taken by the County Planning Commission are
final unless appealed to the Board of Supervisors. This typically
applies to smaller or single-entitlement applications such as rezones, use permits
and variances.
Some actions are sent
as recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for final deliberation, these would include land use policy issues such as community plan amendments,
general plan amendments and multi-entitlement applications.
