The Clerk of the Board maintains the official record of the Board of Supervisors' legislative actions and receives, certifies, and preserves all documents as specified by the Sacramento County Charter and state and local statutes. Meeting agendas, materials and action summaries are archived for 12 months.

The Board of Supervisors is the elected governing body of Sacramento County.
The Board adopts the annual budget, adopts ordinances, approves contracts, determines land use zoning for the Unincorporated Area, appoints certain county officials (including the County Executive and County Counsel), and appoints members to various boards and commissions.
